Supported Independent Living

Supported Independent Living

Planned support and supervision with daily tasks so you can live as independently as possible at home.

Supported Independent Living, often called SIL, provides planned assistance and supervision with day-to-day activities so you can live as independently as possible in your own home or a shared living environment. Your support arrangement is based on your assessed needs, individual goals, daily routines and agreed roster of supports, with assistance tailored to the level of help you require throughout the day.

Depending on your approved support arrangement, this may include assistance with personal routines, preparing meals, household tasks, medication support, appointments, building everyday living skills and planned overnight support. SIL relates specifically to the support delivered in your home and does not generally cover ordinary living expenses such as rent, groceries, utilities or other everyday household costs.
